Recently, PP spunbonded non-woven fabrics and their end products have shown the greatest growth potential in emerging markets, where the market penetration rate is far lower than that in mature markets, and factors such as the increase of disposable income and population growth have played a particularly significant role in driving growth. In these areas, the consumption rate of baby diapers, female hygiene products and adult incontinence products is still very low. Although many regions face challenges in terms of economy, culture and logistics, manufacturers of nonwovens and their end products are making efforts to ensure that they are able to seize future growth opportunities in emerging markets.
Emerging economies in Africa are providing new opportunities for manufacturers of nonwovens and related industries to seek the next growth engine. With the increase of income level and the increasing popularity of health and hygiene education, the use rate of disposable sanitary products is expected to further increase.
According to the research report “The Future of Global Nonwovensto 2024″ issued by the market research company Smithers, the African nonwoven market will account for 4.4% of the global market share in 2019. Since the growth rate of all regions is lower than that of Asia, it is estimated that Africa will decline slightly to about 4.2% by 2024. The output of the region was 441200 tons in 2014 and 491700 tons in 2019. It is estimated that it will reach 647300 tons in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 2.2% (2014-2019) and 5.7% (2019-2024) respectively.
